Arturo Coto is a founder, CEO, and operator with more than 30 years across market research, management consulting, mobile payments, and consumer retail.
His career has spanned roles at Gallup (1991-1999), Global Market Insite (1999-2002), RDD (2002-2003), and Inquisite (2004-2008), followed by 17 years running XRoad Consulting (2008-2025). Along the way he held operating and founder roles at the mobile payments company TabbedOut (2011-2012), the seed-stage accelerator DreamIt Ventures (2014-2016), and the consumer retail brands Nooday Collection (2014-2022) and Loveweld (2023-2025).
Throughout his career he kept returning to a single organizational pattern: how companies define, communicate, and govern the promises they make to customers, partners, and internal teams. Across growth-stage and enterprise environments, he found that most execution failures, delivery risks, and internal breakdowns were not the result of poor strategy or insufficient capability, but of misaligned and unmanaged commitments.
Over time, this observation became a structured point of view: that promises themselves represent a distinct and governable unit of organizational risk. That perspective became the foundation for both his book Promise Drift, published April 2026, and the Promise Alignment System.
